A study reveals the importance of pairing diet with exercise for a long life
A new study finds that longevity depends on pairing healthy food with regular exercise.
The results, published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, showed that those who exercise more frequently and eat well are less likely to die. The study authors also noted that higher levels of physical activity did not counteract the negative health effects of a poor diet.
"Adherence to a good diet and adequate physical activity is important to optimally reduce the risk of death from all causes, cardiovascular disease, cardiovascular disease, and cancer, associated with obesity," the researchers wrote.
Researchers evaluated health and exercise data for 346,627 individuals over an 11-year period.
